Jack Jacob

Ph.D. Student

 

Jack Jacob is a PhD candidate at the University of Florida studying 20th-century and contemporary American literature. He received his bachelor’s from James Madison University in English, with minors in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS), African, African American, and Diaspora Studies (AAAD), and History. He received his masters degree from the University of Florida with the completion of his thesis, “Steinbeck and the Highway: a Literary Historiographical Study of U.S. Roadways in Twentieth Century America.”

His current research focuses on John Steinbeck, the American south and rural America, American industry, and horror. In his spare time, he enjoys driving cross-country, climbing mountains, and making folk music.
