My name is Mosunmola Omowunmi Adeojo. I am a Ph.D. Candidate, a Writing instructor, and a Kirkland fellow at the University of Florida. I hold a BA. in English from the University of Lagos and a Masters degree in English from the University of Florida. I have received travel, research, teaching, and course development awards from the Center for African Studies(CAS), the English department, CLAS, and, CDO at UF. My research interests are in Global Anglophone literatures and Cultural studies, Black British and Mission studies, Digital media studies, and Victorian literature. In my dissertation, I study the life and works of Rev. Canon J.J. Ransome-Kuti, a 19th to 20th-century Yoruba Anglican minister, as an example of how Africans used the church space for early decolonial and nationalist movements in Africa.

My works are published and forthcoming in edited volumes on Gender and Social Media advocacy, and Gender representations on social media, Journal for African Cultural Studies, and Victoriographies Journal. Part of my dissertation work is published in the Philharmonie de Paris’s exhibition catalogue titled: Fela Anikulapo-Kuti: Afrobeat Rebellion.

Outside my school work, I have worked as an executive member of EGO, volunteered with OGAP, and co-created an online community for African graduate students and professionals at UF. I also volunteer with the outreach program at the Center for African Studies to deliver talks and lectures on Africa, I am part of the editorial team of African Studies Quarterly and I sing every Friday with the Pazeni Sauti choir.
