Her right hand is behind her head and she is smiling.Debakanya Haldar (she/her) is a PhD student at the University of Florida. She is currently working on her dissertation, a comparative study between the literary and visual texts of New York City and Kolkata in the mid-20th century. Her digital project, “A Tale of Two Book Streets,” was selected for the MLA Public Humanities Incubator Program 2023. She has previously worked and published on Dalit feminism, and her current research interests include modernism, urban studies, visual culture, and gender and sexuality. As a graduate instructor, she has taught courses on the literary and visual representations of ghosts, film analysis, and survey of American Literature.
