Matt Knudsen

He is pointing off camera.Matt Knudsen is a PhD candidate who completed a BA in Film Production at Loyola Marymount University in 2005. After graduation, he spent time as a writer, director, cinematographer, and editor on short films, music videos, docs, and commercials, working in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. In 2012 he began the Graduate Directing Program at UCLA’s School of Film. He completed his MFA in 2017 after writing and directing his first feature film, which played festivals in the US and Europe before being picked up for international distribution. In 2019 he completed his Film and Media Studies MA at Columbia University. He has taught classes in film production, editing, cinematography, film history, film analysis, film narrative, and English composition. He is currently working on multiple text-based and video-based essay projects in the field of postclassical narratology.
