Kathryn (K) Blasco Solér

K. Blasco Solér is a doctoral candidate in the English program with research interests in environmental humanities, contemporary North American poetry, and diasporic studies. Her writing and teaching are informed by an upbringing in Alaska and a background in science writing. K’s current critical work is an exploration of the eco-poetics and politics of water. Her creative work, land / trust, was a 2023 finalist for the Colorado Prize for Poetry. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics from Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School and a bachelor’s in editorial journalism from the University of Washington. Her graduate teaching experience includes Naropa’s Eco-Poetics and Embodied Poetics coursework. K also served as a Naropa Writing Center fellow. Honors include the Leslie Scalapino Award for postmodern women’s poetry and the kari edwards Scholarship for gender activism and experimental writing. Her critical literary work has appeared in Rain Taxi.
