Natalie Liptak is pursuing a PhD in the department of English at the University of Florida, studying children’s and young adult literature. She completed her master’s degree in English at Kansas State University, where she also worked as a full-time instructor of introductory writing and professional communications.

Her research in children’s and young adult literature focuses on adaptation studies, folklore and fairytales, and immigration narratives. She is also interested in the intersection between disability studies and literature for young readers. Natalie has presented papers on intergenerational memory and multicultural kinship at multiple conferences of the Children’s Literature Association (ChLA).
