UF English cross-lists undergraduate courses taught by other units with significant content in English-language literature and/or media. We regularly cross-list such courses when offered by units such as African-American Studies, CES, CWSGR, Jewish Studies, and LLC. We do not cross-list courses that focus on non-Anglophone literature. We do cross-list film courses that focus on non-Anglophone material when those courses will work with our Film and Media Studies (FM) courses and when the instruction is in English. We are more flexible on the topic of film because English has historically coordinated FMS offerings in CLAS.
Requests for cross-listing must be made during the first phase of scheduling for the semester in question; this is especially critical for FMS that require specially equipped classrooms. To request cross-listing with English, please email Dr. John Murchek as well as the current Undergraduate Coordinator, and attach the course syllabus.
