John Murchek holds a B.A. from Trinity College in the University of Toronto (specialist in English, major in history), and A.M. and Ph.D. degrees in English from Brown University. He is the undergraduate academic advisor in the English Department. In that capacity, he advises undergraduate English majors on issues related to their coursework for the major, and works on the development of the English Department’s schedule of courses. He also teaches undergraduate courses for the English Department. His teaching interests include English Renaissance literature and culture, criticism and theory from ancient times to the present, and lyric poetry and poetic theory.
In the Fall 2024 semester, Dr. Murchek will be available for undergraduate academic advising appointments at the following times:
Monday 9:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:45pm
Tuesday 11:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm
Wednesday 11:00am-12:00pm and 3:00pm-4:00pm
Thursday 9:30am-11:30am and 1:00pm-2:00pm
Friday 11:00am-12:pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm
