Kathryn Hampshire

Kathryn Hampshire is a PhD candidate working on a dissertation about monstrous metaphors for disability in children’s literature. She earned her BA from Ball State University and her MA from IUPUI (both in Indiana). Some of her favorite courses she has taught here at UF include ENL2012: Witches, Queens, Harlots, and Saints: Survey of English Literature, Medieval to 1750; LIT4332: Questions of Representation in Literature for the Young Child; and AML2410: “Them Crazy Kids”: Neurodiversity in Contemporary American Children’s Literature. She has presented at international conferences for organizations like the Popular Culture Association (PCA), Children’s Literature Association (ChLA), and Young Adult Studies Association (YASA). Kathryn has three cats and enjoys cross stitching.
