Sophia Pan

Sophia Pan is an English PhD candidate at the University of Florida. Her research lies in Asian American children’s literature and young adult comics, with a focus on graphic memoirs. Sophia’s research focuses on Asian American children’s literature and young adult comics, with an emphasis on graphic memoirs. She examines how these works explore memory, displacement, queerness, and intergenerational identity while challenging U.S.-centric narratives and reimagining collective histories. She has taught the courses AML2070 Survey of American Literature: Marginalized Voices in America and AML2410: Asian American Identities, the latter of which she won a Graduate Student Teaching Award for.
