Toluwani Odedeyi

Toluwani Odedeyi is a PhD student in English at the University of Florida, specializing in technical communication, user experience research, and digital rhetoric. She is interested in studying rhetorical strategies that simplifies complex technological concepts in digital product design to improve user experiences, especially across diverse linguistic and demographic groups.

Toluwani is a 2024–2025 Sweetland Digital Rhetoric Collaborative Graduate Fellow, recipient of the 2025 Amplification Award from the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing, and an alumna of the Microsoft-sponsored Women Techsters Fellowship for African Women. She teaches courses like ENC 1136: Multimodal Writing and Digital Literacy, ENC 2210: Technical Writing and ENC 1102: Argument and Persuasion, guiding undergraduates across disciplines in developing academic, digital writing and design skills. Toluwani has presented her work in conferences like Computers and Writing and the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing Conference.

Asides academic experience, Toluwani previously worked as a User Experience Designer and Writer in the Nigerian technology sector, where she conducted user research, designed functional digital products and wrote compelling copy for user interfaces. At UF, beyond teaching and research, Toluwani serves with the Graduate Student Council, English Graduate Organization, and ImageText Comics Journal.
